Our 2012 Fly Tying classes are open to the public.  We hope to beat our 2011 class size of 43 people during our 2012 class the sessions.  Our chief tier Manny Dasilva has set the following class schedule.   Each tier will start  with a basic pattern (the Wooly Worm) and progressively tied more difficult patterns as classes progress during the eight weeks.  Tiers who attended all classes will tie 16 patterns to use during the coming season.
*
Classes are each Thursday 7 to 9 p.m.
(more info below)
*
Thursday, January 12, 2012
thru
Thursday, March 1, 2012

Members of the Western Massachusetts Fly Fishermen teach the weekly classes and assisted attendees.

All materials are supplied at no cost to the attendees.  Tools are available for use at each session.  Tiers can  use their creations to catch a variety of fish during the coming season.

Learn more from Frank Sousa's, All Outdoors Colunm in the Sports Section of the Springfield Sunday Republician.  We thank Frank for his support of our fly tying program.

The following list of flies and the links to their photos and tying recipes will remain on the site through most of the summer.  I have had a number of requests to leave the recipes for a while and we will do that so our students can continue to practice their skills.
